OUR CHRISTMAS PART 2

We woke up early on Christmas day and had a huge breakfast with all the leftovers from « Julafton », I lit the advent stars and the Christmas tree as every morning and we just sat there in the chaos of paper and boxes and looked at Viggo having a blast with his new toys…

Then we headed to the mountains and the rest of Phil’s family to have lunch. It’s a beautiful road to go there so we enjoyed the trip as much as the destination. J Viggo was happy all along and Philippe entertained (most of all himself…) with “I drive with eyes closed” and peaked with the other.

We had a wonderful lunch in French style which means sitting down at 12pm and getting out of table at 17h30, but in the middle there was some gift giving involved so we did do some exercise… J

With lots of food and love in the stomach we headed home to the same mess and just threw ourselves on the couch and didn’t do anything more that day.
I love the holidays!

OUR CHRISTMAS PART 1

Since I am a hard core Christmas lover, things have to be like I want them to be. Therefore my little family celebrates like we do it in Sweden, whether they want to or not. This is to be told since Phil is a food lover and to not have his traditional Christmas dinner is admirable and valiant... :) We also do everything the 24th of december, food and presents. The 25th it's all over in Sweden! But since we've been together for 8 years now, he is kinda use to it.
So early Christmas morning, the 24th called Julafton, I went to Ikea to get the last details food-wise that was missing and we were good to go. I spent an hour or two in the kitchen making dinner while the others just chilled and peeked at the presents. This little one most particular:

"- I know I shouldn't be peeking" :)

Then I made the table and we ate! A LOT! Plenty of swedish x-mas specialties.

And around eight we started the gift giving so Viggo wouldn't be too tired.
Unfortunately the man in the house took some lovely pics without looking at the result and 10 out of 10 photos are blurry... But you can still see this little man's face and the happiness and we made some pretty darn good memories in our hearts, I tell ya!

Playing with the word cards he got, a hit!

Then it was time for us to open. I'd been squeezing and lifting mine for days and I was sure I was getting the little Canon printer. Sure like absolutely sure. I start open the big box and first thing I see is a logo with mountains. Oh, I thought, he got me the Sorel boots I peeked at. I start open and I pull out a pair of Timberlands... Phils' ol' Timbs... What the?!
Then I see the note:

Your gift is in the garage!!!

I look again at the box and I see the Burton Snowboards logo, not Sorel. I run to the garage (all this time ugly crying big time) and there I see not snowboard boots as I thought but a freaking snowboard!!! My snowboard that I've been looking at for months!
Best gift ever from best boyfriend ever! He is completely CRAZY!
To be added is that he also gave me a ring people (!) and a gloss that he picked out!
I've been complaining over his non-capacities to pick a gift, every year I pick out my own and no surprise has been going on. Until now. I take it all back! :D Love you!

A Burton Deja Vu Flying V with Escapade EST bindings for those who cares  :)

He made himself a pretty good gift too since he bought himself one also! :D Ha ha, we just spent the rest of the evening looking at the boards and planning this winter season! Yeaaaah!

So I had a pretty awesome Christmas and I hope you did too! We went to bed late, slept all 3 in the big bed and didn't even clean up so this is just from me to you:
HAPPY HOLIDAYS and HAPPY MESS! :D

PREPARING FOR CHRISTMAS

This weekend all we did was Christmas gifts, Christmas gifts, Christmas gifts! On Saturday I did a little tour giving my fave girls some presents and then I was all in for finding what was missing under the Christmas tree. It took me 4 hours but now I’m done and am literally as excited as a five year old! I love Christmas and I love giving! Can’t wait to see the faces when they’ll be opening the presents…

Sunday we spent wrapping those presents and that was a hours-taking business as well. I did it simple and fun this year, no elegant or sophisticated style here, just funny and dotty paper and the freebie gift tags from yesterdays’ post. Voilà!

Viggo helped me out, painted on his new thingie (thank you Karen!) and then we ate. All day. And Viggo made funny faces with daddy and though it was hilarious as you can see.

I really want Santa to read my wish list cus I need a new camera… All thse are taken with my mobile + vsco since the Nikon is just too heavy to carry around taking snapshots with and it comes out rather crappy... And, note to self! Wipe that phone camera off before taking pics!

Now - Lunch time!

FREE PRINTABLE GIFT TAGS

You can find free printable gift tags all over the web and here is my selection for the year. I chosed the Boraillustraties ones since it's matching my paper perfect! I had a real flow going and wrote my tags for just to discover in the end I wrote to Viggo from mum or dad all over... euh, it's Santa who's coming with gifts right? Fortunately the Viggievig doesn't read yet, he he! :D

OUR CHRISTMAS TREE

There is so much going on right now, at work, in the gift planning and so on, I just don't have the time to blog! Since I work in marketing this is the busy time for us and all my creativity is used there, not much left in the evenings. But at least I can show you our christmas tree! We did it last weekend and it's all brown and white. Viggo helped me to decorate and he didn't break a single one! But there are some empty ribbons hanging without the ornament so I'm guessing his been around with his little fingers... :)

ADVENT CALENDER FOR VIGGO

I decided to go simple, first of all because I didn't find enough little gifts in time and second because 4 is enough, one each sunday, for a little guy that prefers the gift wrapping more than the actual gift.
So this is the advent star, I made the wood star last year, and now it's being recycled for this. Simple wrapping and some wool thread + these printables = done! :)

And this is the reason why the "forest theme"! I got him a little beginning of something I'd like to be a tradition, a little collection from Schleich!

Tonight I'll begin my December Daily, I got a Becky Higgins album and lots of yum so I can't wait until tonight!

FIRST ADVENT

This is a swedish Adventsljusstake, a bit modified from the traditional one but still with the four candles and dried moss! One candle is lit each advent sunday and in my family the candles can only be lit that day. It is one of my favorit childhood memories, getting up early on advent, the snow falling outside, hot cocoa and the old copper candleholder my mum made the whole thing in... I want to recreate that same memory for Viggo!
Ours has a forest theme this year, I decided on that this morning when I wrapped Viggos little packages for his advent calender. I'll show you tomorrow why that is. :)

Hello moose!

My weekend was crafty and Viggo met santa, got tons to show you this week!
But now - Good night.
